Digital Marketing Trends for 2022

Indeed the year 2021 has been a tough one, full of challenges where businesses and brands resorted to increasing their online presence to get their businesses running. Thanks to the growth of digital platforms and social media, brands have more gadgets and online platforms that enable them  to market their products to consumers than ever before.  As our last blog post for the year, we want to share with you some digital marketing trends for 2022.

Working as a social media manager gave me the platform to learn every day. It doesn’t matter how much I learn,  there is always something new to learn. There were times where I felt I had everything under control and times where I felt I was losing track of updates. But in all, it has been an exciting learning curve and we can’t wait to work with you in 2022.

Digital marketing is evolving and 2022 will be no different so here are top 5 trends for 2022 and how you can use them to your advantage.

1. LinkedIn

LinkedIn continues to be a rising star in the digital space. Each quarter they show considerable gains in monthly active users and engagements on the platform. They are also continuously launching new features that drive better results for businesses and pages. Marketers should go all-in on LinkedIn.

2. SEO is less game and more integrated

Search engine optimization is one of the oldest and most valuable forms of digital marketing. Marketers need to focus less on the “hacks” and “tricks” of SEO and more on providing an outstanding and meaningful experience to their users. Marketers should focus less on SEO and more on excellent user experience.

3. Websites get faster

Website traffic is overwhelmingly mobile; however, most websites still don’t have fully mobile-optimized experiences. As Google launched Core Web Vitals site design, speed will become more vital. Hence marketers must make sure their website is optimized.

4. Digital jobs continue to grow

Also according to LinkedIn, digital skills are the most in-demand. Yet there is a big skill gap between the number of businesses searching for digital skills and the skills in the marketplace.

5. Everything is algorithm-driven

Every part of digital marketing, social media newsfeeds, display ads, social ads, search engine optimization, and even email is becoming algorithm-driven. The algorithms all optimize for the same basic thing, user experience.
